Since 2009, Riverside Spa has been a proud supporter of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, which serves as the primary charitable fundraiser for the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Every year, more than 100,000 children and their families rely on the Alberta Children’s Hospital for care and support.

CAUSE Canada:

Riverside Spa partnered with CAUSE Canada, shortly after opening to the public, back in 2006. Based in Calgary, CAUSE Canada takes a holistic approach to helping children and their families in Sierra Leone break free from cycles of poverty. In the years that have passed, Riverside Spa has been pleased to contribute to:

• the construction of school buildings and birthing huts,

• life-saving nutritional monitoring services for infants,

• the provision of hot meals to school students,

• meeting post-Ebola recovery needs in the areas of education and nutrition,

• helping children achieve effective and relevant learning outcomes,

• supporting teenage girls to remain in school, providing fees, uniforms and additional computer training in exchange for tutoring younger children to become stronger readers,

• the pressing need post-COVID for teenage girls to return to and stay in school,

• providing access to high quality literacy and numeracy programming by way of offline apps and basic technology,

• increasing the sustainability of this work by meeting with and training women to establish small businesses and lending clubs needed to ensure that all children have access to quality education and nutrition.
